I hadn't noticed before, but yes, the default background color for the task bar is not black, but a light shade of gray. Colors can be changed in Settings > Personalization > Colors (Themes). Windows 11 icons on my 4K OLED screen are tack sharp.

Sep 03, 2021 · Everytime the newest update which is a big update, completes, the monitor's brightness is permanently and unfixably turned up so that every color is brighter, blacks are greys, everything has a washed out look. The calibration file (the .icm file) is lost from the list of the Color Management menu.
