I recently bought the 2014 QX80. After test driving both the base model with the 20" wheels and the high-end model with 22's, I asked my dealer to switch out the 22's for the 20's mainly because my wife, who has a chronic back problem, couldn't tolerate the ride with the 22's.

But, if you really want 20's, you could have saved a lot of money and just purchased a Nissan Armada or the base QX80. Basically the same vehicles, with 20 inch wheels/tires. 20' wheels were not an option,but were available as an accessory with michelin 4s tires (same as my model s) for $4500 . I finally decided to opt for the 20" package hoping it was worthwhile, and would ride closer to my model s. It actually made an amazing difference.Much better smoother ride and of course better look.

I had 17" all star edition wheels and it road like a dream. So smooth and quiet. I just put 22" factory wheels with some Bridgestone 285/45/22 tires. Still rides nice and quiet but I do feel the bumps a little more now. So I will say YES to answer you question, but maybe not that big of a difference on the smaller rims.
